Junior class:

Dog has to start before 30s has passed after the judges whistle. It is regarded as started after the dog has either passed the poles or jumped from the boat. There can be two handlers, but the other has to be on the boat, while the other is on the shore. The handler/s may use up to 6 commands per thing, without any faults.
You cannot use treats during the exercise/on the shore.


1. swimming 30m.

Dog jumps from boat, which is at 30 meters. Dog must arrive between the poles on the shore. The time starts when the judge whistles and stops when the dog has arrived between the poles.
Maximum points 25p.
Max. time 4 minutes.
If there is only one handler, the dog must stay in the boat without help.


2. Getting boat 30 m

In the boat there must be atleast 2 persons. The dog starts from shore, between the poles.
Dog gets boat from 30m.
Handler/or other person hads the rope to the dog. Dog must arrive between poles.
Mawimum points 25, max time 4min.

If there is only one handler (and he/she is in the boat), the dog must stay alone on the shore before start of exe.


Minus points:

- dog is helped to the water without touching dog -2,5 p
- over 6 commands, every extra command: - 0,5 p
- over time, no points gained
- dog leaves boat over 5m's from shore, no points gained.
- dog leaves boat under 5 m from shore, -1 p/m
- dog arrives outside poles, -0,5 p/m
- starting before whistle -5 p.


Max points 50.

First class/ class for non-newfoundlands/landseers (if they pass this class they get to participate in the other classes too)

2. bringing dummy from shore to boat 30 m
Dog starts from shore. Judge whistles, the handler gives the dummy to the dog. The dummy must be theirs and it must be accepted by the judge. You cannot throw the dummy in the water or on the ground.
The time stops after the person in the boat has received it.
Maximum points 25. Time 4 minutes.
If there is only one handler, (s)he must be on the shore.


3. getting a boat 30 m
Dog starts from shore, swims to the boat, takes the rope and brings it to the shore, between the poles. There must be atleast 2 people in the boat (always same for every dog)
The rope is given to the dog when the judge says so.
Maximum points 25. Time 4 minutes.
If there is only one handler and (s)he is in the boat, the dog must stay by itself on the shore.


4. saving a person 30 m
Dog starts from shore, the person jumps from boat at 30m, boat continues extra 10m. Time starts when the person is in water and stops when the dog has passed the poles. The person can splashes the water, but must NOT call for help. The dog takes hold of a dummy (that is in his/her hand) OR the person grabs the dog’s harness.
Max. 25p, time 4min.
If there is only on handler (s)he must be on the shore.


Minus points:
-over the time indicated, no points
-dog is helped into water (without touching) -5p
-over 6 commands, -1p/command
-dog leaves boat/person/dummy over 5m's from shore/boat, no points gained.
-dog leaves boat/person/dummy under 5 m from shore/boat, -1 p/m
- dog arrives outside poles, -0,5 p/m
-starts before whistle, -5p.
If the dog is on the sides of the boat, this is regarded as a start before whistle.
-dog doesn’t take rope/dummy on first command, -2p/extra command
-rope is thown into water -5p

Open class:

1. Swimming and getting boat 50m.
Dog jumps from boat A, which is at 50m. Boat B is at 30m. In the boat B, there can be 1-2 people, but the same amout for every dog. When the dog is 10m from boat B a rope is thrown from the boat. The dog must take the rope and bring the boat (B) back to shore. The dog must arrive between the poles. The time starts when the judge whistles and ends when the dog has passed the poles.
Maximum points 25. Time 4 minutes.


 

2. Bringing an object from shore to boat.  30 m
Before the start of the exercise and object is chosen by the judge. The object can be either 1. dummy 2. rope 3. lifevest. The dog and owner are at the shore. Time starts when the judge whistles, after which the owner gives the object to the dog who must bring it to the boat at 30m. The time ends when the dog has given the object to a person in the boat and come back to the shore between the poles.
Maximum points 25, time 4 min.

 


3. Jumping from boat and towing it to shore 50 m
In the boat there must be at least 2 persons. After the time starts, the handler throws the rope in the water (from the boat). The dog must then jump from the boat and tow it to shore, between the poles. Max. points 25, time 4min.


4. Saving a person, starting from boat 50 m
The dog starts from boat A, which is at 50m. Boat B is at 30m, moving parallel to the shore. A person jumps/falls of the boat B. The dog must jump from the boat and rescue the person. Time starts when the person falls into the water and ends when the dog has passed the poles (with the person). The person in the water may splash, but not call the dog. The dog must take hold of a dummy (in the persons hand) or the person must take hold of the dogs lifevest.  
 

Maximum points 25, time 4 min.

 Winner class
 

Dog has to start in 30s after the judge’s whistle. It is regarded as started after the dog has either passed the poles or jumped from the boat. In the first and fourth exercise the handler may use 2 commands (‘go – let go’)
You cannot use treats during the exercise/on the shore.

1. Brining a rope to the boat 30m.

The handler gives a rope to the dog which then brings it to the boat. The rope must be at least 35m long. The handler hold the rope in his/her arms and slowly lets the dog pull it to the boat. The dog must not let go. The dog must give the rope to the person in the boat. The time stops when the dog has arrived to shore.
Max. points 20, time 4 minutes.

2. Retrieving another boat 50m.

Before the start of the exercise two boats are driven at 30m, approx. 50m apart from each other, parallel to the shore.  The dog and owner are in boat A. Boat B has the rope tied to it, in the water.

When the two boats are positioned, the boats start moving towards each other. The owner may chose when they will start. Time starts when the dog leaves the boat (or at latest, when the boat A is 90° to the poles.)  and ends when the dog has passed the poles. The dog must jump from the boat and bring the boat B to shore.

Max. points: 20, time 4min.

3. Saving a person 50m, start from boat.

The dog is in boat A, which is at 50m. Another boat (B) is at 30m, slowly moving towards shore. A person from boat B drops at 25m, the person must splash water, but not speak. The dog must jump from the boat and rescue the person to shore. The person either grabs the harness, or the dog takes the persons hand.
max. 40p, time 4 min.

4. Brining an object from boat to another boat, parallel to the shore, 20m.

Boats A&B are driven 10m from shore, 20m from each other, parallel to the shore. The owner gives the dummy to the dog, which then jumps from boat A and brings the dummy to boat B. The dummy must NOT be thown in the water.
Time starts when the owner gives the dummy to the dog and ends when the dog has delivered it to boat B.

Max. 20p, time 2min.

 

Minus points:

-over time limit, no points gained
-dog is helped in the water (no touching), -6p.
-over 1 command, -1p/extra command
-dog does not bring the boat/person/other to the finishing line, no points gained

-the rope is given again to the dog, -5p
